  1. I read one JFK conspiracy theory by a ballistics expert, who explained away the whole "magic bullet" theory. HIS theory was that it was most likely an unintentional kill shot from a secret-service agent who was the guy with the automatic rifle who sat up on the back rest of the rear seat of a convertible trailing the president. There was the one shot from Lee Harvey Oswald, the cars in the convoy all hit the gas, and in the panic, the agent accidentally squeezed off a couple rounds, as he tumbled backwards from his perch. According to the one author, the "conspiracy" was trying to cover for their own incompetence. It was less embarrassing to assume Oswald was a super-human sniper, who could fire off several well-aimed shots with a bolt-action rifle like it was a lever-action or semi-auto. So without any conspiracy at all to assassinate the president, but with an accidental discharge in the panic from the initial shot from Oswald. He made a pretty good case based on ballistics, just where some of the shots must've come from. His theory didn't require any "magic bullet" or even any real malice. Just a HUGE FUCK-UP by a body guard.
