  1. Oh, I think you can make the case for dogs and wolves being able to utilize persistence-hunting methods. It's not so much about heat regulation, although the endangered wild dogs of Africa have an edge over all other 4-footed critters. But just staying on the trail of a prey animal for as long as it takes to wear them down works in all climes. They usually will go for something quicker, if they can, but they can single out just about any deer/moose/elk in the Northern Hemisphere and harry it to death, as I'm doing to you, now.

  2.  @mimi45945  I don't care how hairy you are, you don't go out in subzero temps without a coat. The hairiest of us don't get much insulation benefit from our fur.
