  3. My dad is an og Reagan republican and is confused by all the Russian stans. He doesn't really get on social media so whenever he learns the new values of conservatism it takes him a few weeks to process and only leaves him more confused about his identity.

BTW wicca, a commonly practiced modern form of witch craft isn't that ancient. There's a local pagan camp ground where I attend a couple gatherings at a year. The townfolk outside of camp asked if I was hanging out with the woke witches in the woods when I pulled into the gas station on my way home once. I laughed.

  11. Lately Americans have been doing the same to Russia. I grew up through the 90s into Y2K and never really thought much about Russia or heard anyone else talking about Russia too much. Within the last 5 years or so Americans have taken up more interest in Russia to the point that there are a lot of right leaning Americans talking about moving to Russia because it "aligns with their values" when about a decade ago those same people had completely different views on Russia. I guess the propaganda is just that good.

  20. It's still one vote that has gone in favor of either party. If that vote isn't there it could mean the difference of the outcome. Especially in more local votes in the US. The electoral college decides our president though which is supposed to be a representation of the state's popular vote but doesn't have to be. If a state doesn't choose to put in an electoral vote to either party that would be a political move for sure because that could mean the outcome of the presidency.

  32. Thanks for giving first hand perspective on your well being. It's always eye opening to see how similar Russian propaganda and pop culture are pretty similar to the Western world. Thanks for being brave and keeping the world informed. The existential dread of the current events for those impacted by it first hand is understandable. Especially having to leave your home and family. That would be hard. May your creativity bring you some relief.

  41. People have no choice where they are born or what kind of government they are born into. Most everyone in any nation just wants to live their lives and often don't think much of politics except for radical fringe groups that do not define society as a whole.

  42. As an American I've never had Prime or Lunchly. I admit I don't always eat the best but there's plenty of farmer markets and butcheries to get quality food from. Even Catholic charities usually have quality food donated to them you can get once a month per household for free. Even if you are in your 20s with 3 kids a lot of churches give out actual organic food and a lot of farmer markets will give you big discounts for using SNAP or food stamps. Also prepping and jarring quality meals for a few weeks to a month or so out helps a lot after a long day of work or taking care of kids. The big issue with people eating slop like that in America is the price of quality food is much more expensive without food assistance. Also a lot of American parents recently I've notice don't expose their kids to any kind of foods outside of hamburger helpers and mac n cheeses because they don't wanna bother with a kid fussing over having to eat vegetables. The parents or parent just gives them processed sugars and a tablet and call that parenting.
