10-15k is killer for that engine, i have 1 with 170k km on it, rings changed at 130k cause someone did not change oil for 40k. after that car has been maintained very well. oil is changed at every 5k or in 6 months. in summer i use 10w60 and for winter i have 5w40. also i use 1/200 2t oil in gasoline, this engine loves 2t oil. getting atm avarage 10.3l/100 only short trips in city/ official is 12.4l :D. In 5k km i cant see any oil level drop also, like non. i have audi a3 8p quattro and for that car this motor is just perfect, so much low end power. and 18 years later this car still does it, new honda type r and gr yaris just cant keep up :D got it for 6k :D:D:D

 @GhostTaker-00 ik, but its close as you can get, most common problems are exatcly the same on bwa and bwa1, it sound like they made exatly same engine with cheaper materials.
