  2. What a mess it was. All for 2 decades of prosperity and it all died out. Sounds like something similar to what happened in the US after the world war. Growth in factories and factory jobs, export focused, and all to supplement dismmated markets of other coutries. Reading online, the Korean war also helped boost their economy as a major supplier, and they also had huge trade surpluses similar to what China is doing today. The hit of high oil prices in the 70's caused the growth train to hit the wall, since they depended on cheap oil imports to grow their economy.
