  6.  @michiganborn8303  Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions (specifically Article 3, paragraph 1, iirc), which applies to both international and non-international armed conflicts. “*Persons* taking no active part in the hostilities, including members of armed forces who have laid down their arms and those placed hors de combat by sickness, wounds, detention, or any other cause, shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, without any adverse distinction.” Additional Protocol II, Article 4, Article 13, Article 6, which (as many articles do) explicitly says “persons” and not “soldiers” for example.
