I doubt the switch to dc would have been beneficial

@turbojoe2 if the truck has a backup battery 10% of the truck it’ll be plenty, no need to be dramatic
2
@turbojoe2 30 kWh, not 30 kW On a truck that does 0-60 mph with 80k lb 20 sec. 30 kWh......
2
Bolt?

In Europe it’s just two 16A 230V lines, we also use that for induction cooking
1
Electric vehicles existed before ice
1
The statistics disagree
1
I doubt it, because it’s not that great
1
Nah, too inefficient for consumer cars
1
But unlike gas cars you can often just charge your car at home or work...
1
Same!
1
And where are we getting the hydrogen from?
1
Some cars do, and generate up to 5 kWh a day, not exactly what you need to travel far
1
Even supercapacitors hold a relatively low amount of charge
1
Or he can just give you some charge

@turbojoe2 I’m pretty sure he literally talked about the cost in this video😂 Tesla talks about less than 2 kWh/mi, which means that if you wanted an additional 15 miles you’d only need 30 kWh. A Tesla model S, just a passenger car, already has a 100 kWh battery. The idea is not that strange
1
@turbojoe2 with an average of 7 miles/gallon, a truck would only drive 60 km with 20l, right now we’re already able to charge a semi to 25 km range with half a car battery, we’ll get there
1
Like people only charge at fast chargers
1
No it isn’t?
1
@markchisholm2657 I very much know of the skin effect, I just have not seen much movement at all to dc. Would be cool though
1
With the current range of EVs that is not feasible
1
Just dc/ac, not voltage specific
