The Fed has opened up a free money store for short term speculators. The Fed has nationalized the Repo market.

Don't understand reverse repo. Need an expansion on that. Why do banks need collateral if they already have cash?

Claw back inflation's cheating wealth transfer to Warren Buffet and the 1%.

Index debt to the CPI.

Good stuff, but it could use some diagrams or flow charts.

Sorry, I'm not getting this concept of of "collateral shortage". Not making sense to me. I'm seeing reverse repo as just a somewhat-desperate attempt to reduce money supply to quell inflation without raising interest rates. Where does collateral shortage come into it?
2
@sinemacula1327 It makes sense to the debtors and speculators who are screwing the middle class out of purchasing power.

"Right on the money" - thanks! But presentationally, could use less gesticulation, more simple screen charts and illustrations, and a generally less-dark screen. (Money GPS has good presentation format.) Sorry, my stupid cell phone keyboard has a mind of its own.

@ALCAN52 Awesome. Thanks.

@ALCAN52 I can't find any articles that supports that. Do you have any links?
1
@ALCAN52 I looked at both links couldn't find confirmation of that policy. Here's the first paragraph of the Bloomberg article. It says "write DOWN of mortgages... to inflation" It should be "write UP to inflation" if debt is indexed to the CPI, correct? Am I getting the direction wrong? Should the sentence have been written "... linked to DEFLATION"? Excerpt: Iceland has announced plans to write down mortgages linked to inflation by 150 billion kronur ($1.25 billion) to speed the nation’s recovery after economic collapse in 2008

@ALCAN52 Well then it's the fault of the communicaTOR not the communicaTEE. Indexing debt to inflation is almost like abolishing central banking. If that's what iceland did, they did a good job of hiding it from the world.

The "standing Repo facility" is a total, absolute disgrace. It says The Market cannot be allowed to operate freely for one week, or it will bring down the whole system IN ONE WEEK - that's how unstable it is. Nice going, guys. The Founders hate you.

Well done.

Too much gesticulation.

@timsievers2067 Blamestop is leading the entire banking system around by the nose? Thanks, but I still don't get it. I understand why there's a bank reg for cash. But I don't understand why there's a bank reg for "collateral", i e. non-cash? Is that the Fed's way of saying "you better not hoard cash! You better spend some of that money on T-bills"?

They lie right to your face.

Great video, but I don't think the Fed SOLD bonds in 2018-19, they merely let bonds mature. When that happens, they credit (reduce) their Assets and debit (reduce) their Liabilities. What are Federal Reserve LIABILITIES? They are in your pocket. They are the Federal Reserve Notes we call money. They are the money the Fed printed to buy those bonds in the first place.

@sinemacula1327 WTF is a "shortage of collateral". That simply makes no sense in the real world. What's wrong with CASH? How does one have 'too much cash"?
1
@sinemacula1327 Could you please send all your "no value" cash to me?
