  5.  @ALCAN52  I looked at both links couldn't find confirmation of that policy. Here's the first paragraph of the Bloomberg article. It says "write DOWN of mortgages... to inflation" It should be "write UP to inflation" if debt is indexed to the CPI, correct? Am I getting the direction wrong? Should the sentence have been written "... linked to DEFLATION"?   6.  @ALCAN52  Well then it's the fault of the communicaTOR not the communicaTEE. Indexing debt to inflation is almost like abolishing central banking. If that's what iceland did, they did a good job of hiding it from the world.
