@inesssaaaa The war between the colonizers and the indigenous peoples. The latter was less technologically developed and therefore could not resist the invaders. Hence, the invaders have every right to re-name the land, because they won. That's anthropology 101

@xoxo9702 No it isn't. That's just the story of human history. European colonizers renamed the entire United States. That's the way things are. The victors get the spoils.

@inesssaaaa I'm still calling it Barrow. If you don't like it, you should've won the war.

@xoxo9702 I'm not invalidating anything. We obviously shouldn't treat the natives like they aren't human beings, but we shouldn't feel obligated to re-name everything either. Especially when most of the population is non-native.
