  1. My home state of California has proposed similar legislation. Although I lean left, I also tend to err on the side of liberty. I understand the motive for taking such action, but I remain committed to upholding my core principle that you should have the right to do whatever you like with your own body and health, as long as no one else is being harmed in the process. (As such, I do support regulations like smoke-free zones to prevent second-hand smoke, prohibiting the sale of certain drugs to pregnant mothers, and so on). Hence, although I would never use it myself, I oppose any move to outright ban tobacco -- or almost any other substance for that matter (excepting those with high lethality, like fentanyl and krokodil).

  2. ​ @BaldCoryxKenshinfan  Marijuana for recreational use is fine, too. In fact, if every tobacco smoker were to transition to smoking weed, the world would be a much healthier place.
