If it was a genuine accident, I think it's fair to let him off with manslaughter. A few years behind bars at the most, as there was no intent behind it. It's just a tragedy. He seems very calm and up-front about the whole situation. If I had done something so awful by accident, I think I would be panicking. Kudos to him for keeping his composure and turning himself in the next day.
