  1. Dogs can carry rabies too, we don't euthanize them as a precaution. As a leftie, I believe in maximizing personal freedom (provided that others aren't being directly harmed), and that includes the freedom to own any non-threatening animal as a pet, assuming its well cared for. A well-trained squirrel that isn't rabid definitely belongs in that category. RIP Peanut. 🙏🐿
