  1. I actually landed on my neck once when I was like 9 years old. I leaned too far over the top bunk while messing around with my brother and toppled over, landing headfirst on the carpet below. It was only a 4 foot drop and the ground wasn't too hard, but only later I realized how fortunate I was not to have been paralyzed from the neck down. Even the height of a turnstile is enough to end it all if you hit the ground in just the right (wrong?) way.
