Whether you like it or not, these men and women in the Confederacy were all Americans at one time or another. That's why we call it the "Civil War," because it was a war against ourselves. There is nothing civil about war that's for damn sure, but it was and still is an integral part of our history that shall never be forgotten, for fear of it being repeated. If we keep telling ourselves that America is inherently racist and there is little to nothing we can do to stop it, as the MSM and some politicians suggest, we will never again be united. Not united in our love for democracy, not united in our love for freedom, not united in our condemnation of hatred and violence, and certainly not united in our contempt for racism. We will never be the United States of America.
