@BlackCroLong You've gotta be joking. If you care about an unfeeling, unconscious fetus so much, why don't you take care of it AFTER it's born?!!!

Mike W The phrase "under God" was added in the 1950's during the Red Scare. Before then, it was "one nation indivisible". Also, it's the pledge of allegiance, not the national anthem you imbecile. But hey, you can't expect conservatards to know their history 🤷♂️

Yeah, and I wasn't born into abject poverty and destitution or in a family of double digits, and I'm really grateful for that. Quality of life really goes down when your parents don't make enough money to feed you, have 10 other children to care for besides you, or the planet is suffering from a lack of resources due to overpopulation. That's never fun. Edit: Oh, and I was never miscarried either. That's always good, because 20 percent of other children who are conceived aren't quite so fortunate.

@TRex-dd4ze Have you ever adopted a kid? If not, then you have no right to speak. My guess you probably weren't adopted either, or grew up in an orphanage. Ah, but no pro-lifer cares about the unfeeling, unconscious fetus after it's born, when it actually has a chance to suffer and experience real pain. Do you just want everyone to suffer as much as they can for as long as possible? That's what it looks like to me.

Not anymore.

@elsaalvarez459 Yet God also sanctioned abortion on two separate occasions. Read Numbers 5:19-23 and Hosea 9:11-16.

Uh, no it isn't. Murder is killing that's unlawful. Roe v. Wade made abortion legal nationwide. Why should an unconscious and unfeeling fetus have more rights than an adult pig or cow?

Have you seen a first-trimester fetus? Does a person look like a fish? Some lefties like to say that's it's "just a clump of cells," but I find that both unscientific and unconvincing. I imagine you do as well. Rather, it's a very premature human in the first stages of development, totally dependent on the mother for survival and incapable of feeling any pain whatsoever. If that isn't enough to convice you that it's deserving of no more legal protection than a full-grown cow, then I don't know what is.

@t.m.indiana5507 Personally, I would rather be born into family that welcomes me than one that doesn't, but I guess that's just me...

Lol, I can get on board with that. 😂

Where in the Constitution does it say that a fetus has a "right" to be born? A fetus doesn't have a right to anything. It's completely dependent on its mother for survival. Being a part of her body, the mother has a right to decide whether she nurtures it or gets rid of it. I would be inclined to call that freedom, but theocratic authoritarians apparently don't know the meaning of that word.

@elsaalvarez459 What's eternity? The afterlife? Is there even a shred of evidence to believe such a thing exists? Of course not. Keep your delusions to yourself.

@bloomingaccents 98% of abortions occur in the first trimester. A fetus 12 weeks old is only two inches long and is incapable of experiencing pain. The process you describe here only accounts for AT MOST 2% of all cases, and most of them are due to r*pe/incest and mother's health. And even a newborn baby is not what we would consider "conscious". But if you want to outlaw 2nd/3rd trimester elective abortions (which is already the case in many jurisdictions), then I'll support you all the way. Just don't expect me to think you anything less than insane if you really believe that a fetus before 12 weeks is deserving of full legal protection. That's absurd.

@nicolasceresoli9121 I think that's fair. I would make exceptions for women below the poverty line, but I generally believe that's a reasonable stance.

@user-de2zo1bw4d Contraception yes, adoption no. Adopting is painful for both the parents and the child. Not all lefties wanna abolish the nuclear family, you know. Most of us are aware how powerful the bond is between parent and child, and we would like to see that preserved for when the parents are ready. And on a broader scale, the Earth cannot handle too many of us. To avoid the collapse of civilization we will have to do something to keep our population in check, and I fear that birth control on its own won't be enough. Bring new people into the world who actually have a measurable chance of living happy, fulfilled lives.

Murder is killing that is unlawful. We kill cows all the time. That's perfectly legal -- in fact, it's necessary because it feeds people and keeps the economy going. But cows are far more sentient and capable of experiencing pain than a fetus of ANY age. This is a scientific fact. So unless you believe humans are accorded legal protection by virtue of their DNA alone, even in the womb, your comment makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Better than you. You were always stuck at zero.

This, ladies and gentleman, is what a REAL woman looks like. Shame on Texas for passing this UNCONSTITUTIONAL law. Science has proven that a fetus is incapable of experiencing pain before 20 weeks. 98% of abortions are done before TWELVE weeks. This is an incontrovertible fact. There's no bigger government than one that reaches into the uterus of women.

@nicolasceresoli9121 Does a racist serve for 8 years under our first Black President and then choose a Black woman as his running mate? If so, that's a very curious strategy...
