That's what Republicans tend to do. Unlike Democrats, which genuinely want to preserve the status quo (or move in a new direction in the case of progressives), they want us to revert to the "good ol' days" when black people were l*nched for "loitering," gays had to stay in the closet, and women kept to the kitchen and never questioned the authority of their husbands. Is it? Then why do Republicans seem to try so hard to end it or make it as miserable as possible by not supporting paid maternity leave, an extended chiod tax credit to end child poverty, a liveable wage, or elder care? Or allowing 45,000 Americans to DIE each year because they are uninsured? Or shipping young people off to fight useless wars? Or failing to put an end to gun violence? The list goes on. They want people to live just long enough to give them their vote, and distract them with culture war nonsense while the corporations they are taking bribes from perpetually rob their employees and customers and pay zero taxes. And we all know why they're against higher education, because once people learn that it's all a scam, they tend to lose voters.
