This shouldn't be the conversation. The conversation should be about passing an AMENDMENT that limits the number of justices on the Supreme Court to NINE. Endless court-packing will only undermine our democracy.

Roger Wilco Bro, 75% of America identifies as "religious." I'm an agnostic and I couldn't care less what the faith of the Justices are. I just care that they uphold the Constitution.

@connor4582 Okay, but how many justices should be added? The Constitution doesn't specify. The only way to ensure that the Supreme Court remains stable is by passing an Amendment that sets a limit on how many Justices can serve at one time. Considering the Court has had nine for half our country's history, I don't think it's wholly unreasonable to set the limit at nine. That is enough to balance both ideologies, maybe shifting from one to the other over time, but still avoiding a tied ruling. A Justice's sole job is to protect and uphold the Constitution, regardless of their personal convictions. In other words, the Court should be a-political. That's why I think 9 is a fair number to have at any given time.

@connor4582 Really? I don't think the court is becoming increasingly partisan. Wasn't it Chief Justice John Roberts, a "conservative," who ruled that LGBT's can't be discriminated against in the workplace? And didn't Trump appointee Neil Gorsuch join him? And didn't Roberts also vote in favor of striking down Trump's attempt to repeal DACA? There's only one thing all the Justices should agree on--the Constitution--and that should be enough.
