@thisistheworldtoday Let the virus take its course? What other choice do we have? At this point all we can do is wash our hands and socially distance ourselves and isolate those who are sick. What else do you expect him to do, wave a magic wand and make it disappear? That's not science.

@jake canebrake They aren't as effective in avoiding catching the virus, but they were always recommended for those who are sick because they prevent droplets from spraying everywhere. It also might have something to do with the fact that the US has a shortage (unlike China, which was already using them for air pollution). They are more desperately needed by healthcare workers than everyday healthy people. Though I agree, everyone should be wearing a mask in public until this crisis is over.
