  1. I don't care about the NRA, I care about the Constitution and whether our elected officials are willing to defend it. Sadly, it seems that number is slowly but surely diminishing. Once our guns are taken away the government will have free reign to do whatever they want with us.

  2.  @radoraf  Promotes injustice? You think the 2nd Amendment is unjust? How is the right to arm yourself against intruders and people who seek to do you harm unjust? How is it unjust to be equipped for a revolution should the government become more authoritarian and try to strip your rights away and enslave you?

  3.  @radoraf  Really? Do you actually know what the Second Amendment says? It reads: "A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." That's quite clear: it establishes that the militia (which at the time meant the armed populace as a whole), is to be "regulated," also meaning equipped or supplied. They even stated their intentions for the right being explicitly protected in the amendment itself: "being necessary to the security of a FREE state." The whole idea wasn't about protecting yourself from Native Americans, foreign invaders, or even intruders; it was about guaranteeing liberty itself. Without weapons the citizens can't engage in a revolt, making tyranny an ever more likely possibility. Tell me how any of this is arbitrary.

  4.  @radoraf  I don't see a difference. On one hand, one group was fighting for civil rights and equality via a show of force. On the other, a separate group was fighting for the re-opening of their businesses and the restoration of their jobs and main source of income. How is that arbitrary?

  5.  @radoraf  That he did. And I don't necessarily agree with those laws. Either all law-abiding adult citizens have access to firearms, or none do. There really is no in-between. I'm for all.
