  2. Um sorry sir but most video games aren't "mind-numbing." A lot them might actually teach you strategy or organizational skills that can be applied to the real world. Also, I think I've learned more useful information from the Internet (notably Wikipedia, YouTube, and Spotify) than my last 6 years in public school (7th-12th grades). There's a reason sociologists are calling this the "Information Age." Because information can travel so fast, we know more than ever what life is like on the other side of the world, let alone numerous other subjects like cosmology, medicine, etc.
