  3. We can't be tolerant of intolerance. There was a time when a majority of the country supported (or was at least indifferent to) slavery, does that make it right? NO! What's right is not tied to popular opinion. (By the way, many of them used the Bible to justify the practice. That filthy book is littered with verses on slavery, yet not ONCE does it declare the practice "immoral" or "sinful." If you judge what's right or wrong based on that text, I've got bad news for you: you aren't going to find a single verse that explicitly condemns slavery for people of all races and nationalities.) And no one should tolerate someone's beliefs that homosexuals, atheists, Muslims, women, or any other marginalized group isn't deserving of equal rights and protections under the law, either.
