@VAswang How do we gauge merit? How about we assess each applicant based on their academic record and extracurricular activities? Perhaps GPA might have something to do with who gets admitted, along with playing sports or being a leader of a campus club/activity in high school. In other words, we look at how motivated they are to succeed, which gives us an indication of how much they are prepared for the rigor demanded at Ivy League schools. Ever wondered why the black dropout rate is so high? 🤔

@emmahollow8898 Thanks. It's absolutely 100% wrong and often hurts the very people it's intended to help (by admitting certain kinds of applicants who aren't prepared for the rigor and end up dropping out).

@AKing69 Yeah, and your point? I used it to point out the hypocrisy of the media. They think it's OK to discriminate against some racial minorities but not others. I'm declaring that it's NOT OK to discriminate, ever.

@VAswang Yeah, like skin color. Harvard has been known to rank Asian applicants lower on "personality" tests even though all objective assessments show that they have just as much personality as anyone else. They use it as a cover for discrimination, and it's grotesque.

@VAswang Tucker Carlson is an idiot. If I conceded your point, it does absolutely nothing to uphold your argument. You're telling that it's acceptable to discriminate on the basis of race, and I'm saying it's not. Who has the moral high ground here? If you had two brain cells, you would know the answer. Also, I'm not your "daughter."

@VAswang That's exactly my point: universities should NOT consider socioeconomic status and ethnicity in their admissions process. Those factors should only be taken into account after they have made their decisions based on MERITS ALONE, when determining who receives scholarships for example. And I never called you "son," idiot. You're unable to form a coherent argument. Sad.
