@JackPineSavagest Yep. I don't understand it one bit, because many of them aren't doing heavy lifting or transporting heavy objects on a regular basis (you know, the thing pickup trucks were made for). And they aren't all that comfortable, either. For the same price I can buy a nice Lexus or even an older Porsche (like my grandpa's got) that would be much more suitable for long road trips or performance in speed and handling. It's definitely a cultural thing that will have to be discarded, either voluntarily or (ultimately, when the world runs out of fossil fuels) by force.
