Remember: In the wake of a VERY close Presidential election, and a highly contested recount in Florida, Democratic Presidential candidate Albert Gore immediately conceded the election to his opponent -- George W. Bush -- upon the issuing of the Supreme Court's ruling Bush v. Gore. This is in spite of the fact that Gore won the popular vote and a more thorough recount demonstrated that he was the true winner of Florida, and therefore of the 2000 U.S. Presidential election. To this day, former President Trump has yet to formally concede and still maintains that he was the victor in the 2020 election (can you say "detached from reality"?), despite numerous recounts and losing the popular vote by over 7 million. It's simple: One side values the preservation of American democracy and its institutions -- the other does not.
