  1. The ironic part is that this isn't even a part of their job. This is something extra they did out of the kindness of their hearts that they had training for. Normally an ambulance would have to be called for this kind of situation, which may have taken too long. This is the job of a medic, not a police officer. It was lucky they had someone nearby who could help them. This says nothing, however, about the actual duties of a police officer.
