  1. De Beers is a scam. The enlightened know by now that the company responsible for producing 80% of the world's diamonds limits the supply to artifically inflate the price. They began their ad campaign for engagement rings decades ago, and now it's become a tradition. We've all been fooled. If you have a modicum of common sense, you would purchase the lab-made diamonds without hesitation, or even another jewel altogether (e.g. alexandrite). Don't waste your money buying from a greedy corporation that's scammed an entire country into buying their products in the name of romance. It's absolutely disgusting.
