As someone who definitely falls on the left, I can tell you that just about NO ONE likes Newsom. Some of us are just think that he's still better than most of his competition (especially Elder). But choosing between those two is the California equivalent of the 2016 race between Corrupt Hillary and Conman Donald. If there was any hope of someone like Kevin Paffrath winning, I would be breathing a sigh of relief. Unfortunately, I don't think there is.
