Weed impairs motor function, the very thing that's on display in athletic competition. Perhaps if this was a contest of who had the lowest heart rate weed would provide an unfair advantage. 🤦‍♂️

  3. Wtf are you talking about, weed is one of the safest drugs in existence. Even over-the-counter medications can be dangerous if you take too much (e.g. Tylenol), but you can't overdose on weed. You'll feel unpleasant for a while, but it won't kill you like a lot of other substances (alcohol, by comparison, is about 254 times more dangerous than edible THC according to the LD50). A lot of us, including myself, would like to know what all the hype is about surrounding this plant, and given that experts estimate thousands of lives could be saved if weed supplanted alcohol as the recreational drug of choice, there is NO REASON you or anyone else should complain. We're not just "throwing our lives away." Are we not allowed to have fun once in a while? And in her case, she did it to deal with the grief she was suffering over the loss of her biological mother.

  6. Lol I've tried weed (only edibles, it's legal here in California, don't worry), and speaking from personal experience it is anything BUT performance-enhancing. It doesn't give you a meth kind of "high" where you feel energized --- quite the opposite. It impairs motor function for a short period, so if anything smoking it hurt her performance because I presume she wasn't spending that time she was high training. Caffeine gives you much more of a competitive edge than marijuana. Yet another dumb law that isn't caught up with the science and has to change.

  7. Actually, if this was another country's athlete I would still be p*ssed about it, but that would primarily be the other country's problem --- not our own. The ADA's policy on this has to change regardless. There's no scientific evidence to support it.

  8. Who? Does the Bible say you're not allowed to smoke weed? If so, the Gnostics (a sect of early Christianity) would have to disagree, given that they used psychedelic substances as part of their rituals.

  9. You missed the point completely. Alcohol is NOT performance-enchancing, and neither is weed. Testing for it in an athletic competition, therefore, is asinine. It serves no purpose, and it definitely does not ensure the integrity of the sport. The fact that the two are treated differently is a total double-standard. Do some research, moron.
