They will realize that everything you have told them is a lie, and the only way they can be all those things is if they take responsibility for themselves and aspire to meet those standards. THAT is what you should be teaching your kids; to be good people and once they have shown themselves to be that kind of person THEN you can praise them. The worst thing you can do a child mentally is lie to them.

  3.  Gregg Arsenault  More class? How is bragging about oneself and making untrue statements about one's character demonstrating "class?" You have no idea how this kid actually behaves, you just watched a 3-minute video of her presumably on her best behavior. Good try, but I'll take my chances that this kid still poops behind the couch and throws a tantrum when she is fed vegetables.
