  2. This wouldn't be happening if we made the transition to 100% renewable energy already and upgraded our infrastructure. Unfortunately, we would rather spend $2 trillion on fighting useless wars in the Middle East, and on drone strikes that have a 90% civilian casualty ratio (Daniel Hale). This is also why the Keystone XL pipeline and others should NOT be constructed. Despite what the for-profit corporation may tell you, they are NOT "safe"!
