He thought the Earth was shaped like a pear. Oh, and then he slaughtered many of the same people who showed him the utmost hospitality. History is written by the victors, but that does not imply that the victors are always the good guys.

  4. Maybe when we had a con man and a fraud as our President, who had no idea what the hell he was doing. Now, the rest of the developed world is muttering under their breath, "Finally. They're catching up." They still laugh when they see these mega-church pastors push conspiracy theories about the virus, vaccine, and the election, though. We've got a lot of nutcases over here still.

  6. Jesus predicted that his return would happen in the lifetime of (some of) his disciples. Mark 9:1 What that book says isn't even worth a grain of salt. That's why it sits on my shelf next to The Lord of the Rings. I would argue the latter is better literature, though.
