Cops need to be trained in de-escalation and handling those in mental health crises. Period. Someone suffering a mental disorder or high off their a** on drugs is a type of situation that police should know how handle so that the person is no longer a danger to those around them but at the same time preserving their life. This isn't about r*cism, it's about ending police incompetence.
