  1. It's the highest recorded temperatures in 125,000 years, not of all time. And it's not just the warming itself that's the concern, it's the pace of the warming. The human species -- let alone human civilization -- has never experienced warming this rapid. Don't take my word for it, look at the charts for yourself (which, as you said, contain data reconstructed from ice cores). A little research goes a long way.

Now, we're seeing greenhouse gas levels that haven't existed since the Greenland ice sheet was formed 3 million years ago. Frankly, if you have no relevant educational background on this topic, I couldn't care less what you believe. The concept is quite simple, but it's one the rich and powerful don't want you to know (much less act upon), which neatly explains why you're so misinformed. Debate me, I dare you.
