One thing I like about Bernie is that he concentrates almost exclusively on economic issues rather than social issues. The neoliberals will tell you all day and night how much they care about gay people and Black Lives Matter, because that doesn't impact their campaign contributions. But once they do what Bernie is doing and elaborate on how ordinary Americans are getting screwed, all of a sudden that corporate superPAC money dries up. I wonder why... 🤔 Bernie's focus on the class war is potentially unifying across the spectrum, but there remains (I believe) one major obstacle to be overcome: the far right has launched a (largely successful) propaganda campaign that Bernie and "the Squad" are "socialists." That one word, more than any other, turns off those voters we need in order to form a coalition. We need all responsible media outlets to get the word out about what "socialism" really is: not Cuba/Vietnam/China/Venezuela, but Sweden/Norway/Finland/Denmark; not Marxism but Rawlsian justice; not Communism but Social Democracy. Point out the fact that the U.S. is one of THREE countries in the world that doesn't have paid maternity leave, and that we are the only developed country that lacks universal healthcare (even Saudi Arabia has us beat on that one!). That is how we are going to win.
