  1. The electric shock comes from the friction of bodies sliding down and is discharged through the round-headed screws that hold it together. Those are fun.

  2. Personally I would climb along the side rails on the "safe playgrounds" because it was more adventurous and daring than the lame walk-up-the-stairs-and-go-down-the-slide routine. I still am not convinced that it's a great idea to let kids play with nails and work with raw lumber from which they could get some pretty nasty splinters, but surely there is some way to make playgrounds here in the US a little more dangerous and fun.
