  1.  @sumob3738  I'll tell you why: the Chinese government had an opportunity to shut down food markets after the SARS outbreak nearly 20 years ago. And what did they do instead? They legalized them again. AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED. Oh wait, it gets worse. After the coronavirus got loose in December of last year, they tried to SUPPRESS the concern of medical professionals who saw the potential of an outbreak. Only after a full MONTH since it first spread to people in Wuhan did they decide to take serious action and lock down the area. Had they just heeded the advice of their doctors, it likely would have been contained to just a few hundred people in the Hubei province and we'd never have heard about it again. Screw China.
