  1. How about we rearrange the school system to teach more important life skills and leave out anything that is excessive, like Shakespeare or literary periods? Instead, this class time could be used to teach kids how to be effective writers and confident public speakers--skills that will almost certainly be needed at some point in the child's life. This "excess" could instead be offered as an elective course so students who are interested can still learn it.
