Having a "B" in a word to link it to a language that is DEAD is nice and all, but those who would like to study English (given that it's an international language) when it's not their first language won't give a crap about where the word originated - just its definition. Sorry etymologists, but English orthography is screwed up a thousand times over, and I assure you that that is not helping to promote and encourage the study of this critical language worldwide. Something needs to be done about it, for the benefit of future generations and not the odd few who prefer to know a word's history over the sake of simplicity. Tell me, which is more important in the long run?
