  1. My husband is a freshwater scientist and he is very educated in this area. Blue green algal blooms definitely have killed dogs who have consumed a lot of water and have had contact with the bloom. This family would’ve had to consume a lot of water though to my knowledge, and I’m sure toxicology will reveal if this was what killed them.

  4. Just to clarify, my husband doesn’t think it’s at all likely they died due to the algal bloom.

  5. That is actually not surprising sadly with a blue green algal bloom. Dogs consume a lot of water in lakes and blooms have killed them before. So awful.
