I agree with Robert Dallek's overview. It took me many years to realize and understand the generational mindsets of both Johnson and Nixon, and in time appreciate them for what they were. Simply put that was one of those divides between the WWII generation and we baby boomers. Vietnam (probably even Korea) were places that did not need our presence. But the past is the past. Yes, President Nixon ultimately did get us out. It was the South Vietnamese who were overrun by the communists in April 1975. Thank you David, both for this reminder and for taking the time to educate your younger viewers to the truth. Now, let's go be a blessing.
