  1. I remember most of these stores (realizing many were regional) since being a child through adulthood. Now, as I'm pushing 70, I'd rather shop locally even if that means reduced product selection over the big box stores (especially WM which intentionally put small town businesses out to become a localized monopoly).

  2. I must correct you. It is not yet the mid 21st century. We are in the first quarter of the 21st century, Please do not make me 100 years old yet. Yes, I shopped at several of those stores.

  3. Not to suggest inexcusable destruction never previously took place. That said, I've noticed a drastic uptick in blatant vandalism during the 21st century.

  5. Very interesting. I lost count of the ones I had never heard. Some I am glad I didn't know. In all fairness I date back to Sinatra, then came to classic rock-n-roll, classic jazz, outlaw country and Tejano. Now, I am old enough to mix my genres.
