@AbsentWithoutLeaving Floods? CAN'T happen here, I have a difficult enough time holding water in my koi ponds.
Landslides? LOL I don't live near any mountainsides, it's pretty flat here at 153' elev.
Lava flows, well that's surely "possible" but not near as bankable as snow and ice ever year in half the other states. Lava is slow compared to a smack down tornado.
You PICK the right spot, you need to LEARN Geography to live well, out of a city.
We had a hurricane, wasn't anything to cry about, ONE if 25 years, not 25 a year. Lost a couple coconut trees out of 100s of them. Power was out for 2 weeks, nothing insurance would have helped with.
And a Tsunami? Like I said 153' above sea level it would take a Cascadia event to reach me, and we could always just go up the mountain, that is 14K feet above sea level.
One reason hurricanes don't make land fall often, the water is DEEP and cold right off shore.
Not shallow like the BP Gulf Coast.
Did you study the geography of our states? Knowledge is power, better than money. Poorly Educated people know nothing of Hawaii. Even most tourists miss it because they treat it like and E Ticket in Disneyland. lol
