It is required of me by law of the nation of which I am a citizen. Ive had a gun pulled on me by police whilst in a vehicle. I turned the car off, put my hands on the wheel, and didn't move. I got dragged and slammed, then heavily apologised to 5 mins later when they discovered I was the new owner of said vehicle, not the violent criminal they believed me to be. If I met them "with equal force" I'd be dead. If I tried to run them down with my car, I'd be dead. A vehicle is a weapon, clown. "You can't claim self defence* in response to someone trying to flee from your attack stance." This is idiocy. It is a police officer, you are required to comply when they tell you to stop, if you do not comply, THEY are required to use force. If you become a danger to the public, they are required to use whatever means necessary to stop that danger.
