  4. This is a terrible take.. do you think drug addicts were sober before it became legal? The only thing legalising marijuana does is stop normal people getting into trouble with the law for what is essentially medicine. If you're talking hard drugs (are you telling me meth/heroin/angel dust/bath salts/opium/cocaine/etc are legal? because I find that hard to believe) then you're talking about a massive health issue, with mental health at the centre of it. We define addiction as a mental health issue, but when that addiction is drugs, the person somehow becomes a criminal? I don't think these people actively choose to destroy their lives, their bodies, their minds, live in bins, eat garbage.. they're very sick and need medical help, not incarceration. The issue is bad ideology being wielded by idiot children using social media/racism/sexism as a shield/weapon.
