  1. I disagree on PRS, they are way overpriced as well… and you want how much for an SE made by a machine in Indonesia? I’ve played several SE’s and they were complete trash, poorly built, poorly finished. Schecter murders SE’s on both price and quality. Pat a little more and you get an ESP MIJ RAY high is likely comparable to an American prs, at half the price. PRS is another brand I’d love to own but likely never will.

  3. We can’t get my mates SG to stay in tune.. the intonation is horrible. I gave a Samick LP (lawsuit) to his daughter that embarrasses his SG in every way possible. The Samick is probably worth less than the volume knobs on the Gibson.

  4. Just too expensive. That’s the bottom line. I’m all good with paying $6000 for a full custom shop, but if I’m buying a $1000-2000 guitar, the amount of guitar I can get from other brands for the same price means Gibson isn’t even a consideration.. Gibson custom shop is then double the cost of a custom from anywhere else. I’d love one, but I’ll probably never own one. Asking $10,000 for a custom is a bit silly, I’ll go buy an ESP custom, Schecter custom, a Fender American and have cash left over.
