The real issue here is allowing minors to make life altering decisions as if they’re adults. Can’t buy a beer/pack of cigarettes/drive/etc, but can decide to permanently chemically/physically alter themselves? It doesn’t make sense. I’m sure we all had some pretty wild ideas at some point in our childhood, generally as a product of our environment.. makes you wonder if it’s the parent or the child. That said, if an adult makes the decision, and says “hey, I’d prefer if you call me ‘x’ name from now on”, I don’t see any reason to disrespect that person if they’re respectful in their request (eg: not expecting you to know and getting angry at you for not knowing).

@TedEhioghae Adults are free to make their own decisions, if they're not hurting anyone I have no issue with how they want to live their life.. its their life, not mine. This is why I specified if they are respectful about it. I wont be rude to someone who hasn't been rude to me. I have no personal malice against people trying to live their lives in peace. The issue I spoke on is minors, and the strange hypocrisy of saying someone isn't responsible enough to drink a beer, yet they can decide to chemically/surgically change their genetic make up? It makes absolutely no sense. I see it as child abuse.
