You don’t understand what an atheist is. They don’t have a ‘belief system’. An atheist asks for proof, nothing more. You say god exists, ok.. show me. If you can’t, then how do you expect me to believe you? Coke back when you can prove it, until then, it’s just a story. I’m not taking your version of a story written by savages sitting in a ditch 3000 years ago and living my life based on it, in the hope that your particular cults version of the story is true. There is as much proof of your god existing as there is of the Star Wars universe existing.. they’re both stories. An intelligent person does not need the promise of heaven or the threat of hell to see the merit in good deeds and kindness.

@robertoriggi6762 You ask that I do research as if you assume I haven’t. I do not consider scriptures research, so please don’t go there. The bloodiest time? No. Not at all, that is an incorrect and misleading statement being used to justify your position. The only difference is scale. Technology and population growth mean that larger numbers will be affected by a wider reach, but that is just scale, and these conflicts are all based around religion regardless. Humans have always used religion as a means to be horrible to each other, but in the past, weren’t as mobile. Meaning they conquered local territories, using religion as a control mechanism, instilling fear and subjectivity through torture, murder, genocide, slavery and threat of eternal damnation. Most people within reach of the conquering force would share similar ideals to those forced upon them by the religion of the region from which it came, but when you can go from continent to continent with ease, the ideals differ greatly, causing conflict.. religious conflict. Now instead of the scale being two warring tribes, it is two warring nations. Instead of a war leaving thousands dead, it’s now millions, but this is due to 9 billion inhabitants with global reach, instead of small armies with horses. Every war in human history has been religion based. Religion is violence, hatred, division, judgement, and now that violent creature has the means to hurt people on a far bigger scale. You can’t show me a single shred of proof that god exists, I can show you an entire human history of horrors being committed by those who claim he does. Atheists aren’t the problem, mate. Religion is intrinsically violent, and riddled with hatred. It was a control mechanism used to stop people from doing what leaders didn’t want, by using fear of the unknown. As far as use, it has been replaced with government and now just causes harm. World hunger could be solved using the tax breaks that organised religion receives in the USA annually.. just the tax breaks, not the profits. It’s a hard sell to say religion cares about life knowing that.

@antonyhanson4479 You can put anything before the word “atrocities” in google and you will get a sea of horror. Instead of deflecting, with “go google this vague topic I’m championing”, what is your ACTUAL point. Are you trying to put the worlds issues onto the Australian military? It’s a bit of a stretch, mate. The Indonesian military are currently slaughtering west Papuans, has been for a decade now.. full genocide with AK’s against people with sticks. Do you think it gets nicer in other places? Australian military influence is almost exclusively based around our highly elite special air services, there aren’t enough troops to influence what you’re saying here. Even if every other nations soldiers were upstanding ambassadors for human rights, and Australian soldiers were the scum of the earth, there aren’t enough of them to cause widespread cultural damage. So what is the actual issue for you.. your issue? Because like I said, it’s a bit of a stretch in reality to say Islam is angry at the world because of Australian soldiers.

@adzzino When you quote someone, it generally needs context to leverage from to gain meaning. Let’s do a recap; You are upset about things that happened hundreds of years ago, to people long dead. You are angry at people alive today for things they didn’t do, in a time they weren’t alive. You are treating these things as if they happened to you, and directing your anger for it towards people based on their appearance, not involvement. And finally, when met with the reality that hanging onto it keeps it alive, you attack, baselessly calling the person brainwashed. You then go on to suggest the person educates themselves, and imply that they must be uninformed due to their mindless consumption of western media.. I don’t even own a television. This is blind arrogance.
