  2.  @WeAreHere-42  Too generous, maybe.. but you can’t stop supporting people at a very base level or they become desperate and start doing bad things as a result. The $150-200 a week given to an unemployed person, stops that person breaking into my house looking for something to steal so they can eat. Desperation created the criminal, we all have to eat. “Lock them up” you say!? Now you’re paying $330 a day to keep them in a cell as opposed to $400 a fortnight for base living costs. I like the fact my grandmother can walk down the street with her hand bag in this country. Large part of that is due to our social security system.
