They did that show so well that I couldn’t continue watching it. I grew up in some bad shit and the show genuinely brought me back to horrible places mentally.

@silverblade357 Faux Luke? You mean the guy she easily beats? What could he possibly teach her??!?

She didn’t write the episode, she came up with the idea for an episode.. big BIG difference. She wrote the self insert part the psych gave, which was quite well done for how loaded with man hate/spite it was.

@veryonlineman You’re trying to make people ashamed of their hobbies, mate. What’s wrong with you?

@ngultrum1 It cracks me up that people believe they let her write character dialogue, yet all characters acted/sounded 100% consistent with previous seasons. If she wrote their dialogue this wouldn’t be the case, fans of the show would notice the characters act…… out of character. Big difference between an idea for an episode, and writing the lines within the episode, but props for the idea, it was a cool episode.

@YMOHenry Sure, appreciate the advice.

@geoffstemen3652 Well I came from a kid with an abusive heroin addict as a dad, bouncing from drug houses, being locked in cupboards, etc, to a business owner. We all have our battles, I like to think I did ok in mine. At least I wasn’t cat called…. Right?!?? If someone believes seeing very realistic scenes of drug houses making me uncomfortable means I need help, fair enough.. thanks for the input. My comment was supposed to highlight the realism of their sets. They pulled no punches.

@candideggplant1575 I’ve got to agree. Story specific politics within a universe/setting, specific to that universe/setting is far different to extreme real world political ideals being used as the base for every freaking sci-fi/fantasy world/setting they write. Science FICTION… FANTASY… the genre titles speak for themselves. Keep it fictional.

@derpoblizist9076 Never trust someone who ignores context, cherry picks a small part of a statement and uses it to sell their point.. Fail, bud.

It’s ‘funny’ they’re using a genre that has traditionally been social suicide to explain tolerance to its fans………

@bxl2012 Sure.. liking sci-fi/fantasy when I was growing up was literal social suicide. The ridicule in school a kid would cop for liking that sort of thing would be ruthless, you wouldn’t want it to be common knowledge. Even post school, there was a ‘geek/nerd’ stigma attached to it, it wasn’t something you would share with people, and ‘geek’ wasn’t the term for a hot chick putting glasses on and pretending she likes marvel. There’s irony/hypocrisy/lack of awareness in using a genre/characters/etc that people didn’t get a lot of tolerance for liking, to lecture those same people on tolerance.

Has anyone here ever actually (non ironically) whistled at a woman? Apparently we’re all filthy pigs, but I’ve never even seen it happen, let alone done it myself.
